Working life
Since 1990, I have worked for myself as a writer, editor and writing coach:
1990 to present: self-employed 1987-1990: Communications Specialist with McKinsey & Company in London. 1984-7: Consumer research. Writer of reports on food, drink, public services and pollution for Which? magazine, London. 1976-83 (my Berlin years): undertook research into unemployment policy for the International Institute of Management Berlin; later moved to the Free University Berlin to do research into shiftworking; spent last two years in Berlin as a freelance journalist and translator. 1975-76: Straight out of university.
